Abstract

|
This is 21-year-old female patient. She episodic, uncontrolled, rapid ingestion of large quantities of food followed by abdominal discomfort and self-induced vomiting for one month. She often uses laxatives for weight control. I attempt to treat this patient by face-to-face psychoanalytic psychotherapy, three times a week, fifty minutes for each session. Dr, Kim, Myeung Hee supervised this case at the seminar of Korean psychoanalytic study group from September 12th to 15th 1993. (session 1st to 55th) She recommended that the active role of the doctor is important to this case and the doctor must help the patient to differentiate the object from the self. And she said that it is important to protect the session from her mother’s involvement.
